What You Need to Know (Terms & Conditions)

Livestreaming vs Recording

Mark always aims to livestream the service using a professional bonded multi-SIM setup for the best chance of a stable connection. On a good day, this setup gives him just under 8Mbps upload speed across five combined network connections — and it’s rare that he doesn’t achieve it. However, livestreaming is never guaranteed — especially in rural locations or stone-built venues. If there’s no usable signal, the service will be recorded and uploaded later that day.

To help protect the signal, it’s encouraged that attendees disable their mobile data during the service. If this is ignored, it can reduce the available bandwidth and weaken the strength of the broadcast — especially in venues with limited mobile coverage.

Satellite Internet (Starlink)

If there’s no mobile signal at the venue, Mark can provide satellite internet (Starlink) for an additional fee. However, a stable connection still isn’t guaranteed — in fact, reliability is roughly 50/50 from past experience, depending entirely on the location.

Starlink requires a completely unobstructed view of the sky, ideally facing south-west. Trees, buildings, or even weather can interfere with the signal, and there’s no way to guarantee success in advance — even with on-site testing.

Clients who choose this option do so at their own risk, and Mark can no longer take responsibility for failed broadcasts due to satellite conditions. If livestreaming is critical, a full in-camera recording with same-day upload may be the more dependable route.

Artistic Discretion & Special Requests

Coverage is at Mark’s professional discretion. While special requests are welcomed, no single clip is guaranteed, and live circumstances may affect what’s possible on the day. Angles, access, weather, and how people move all play a part in shaping what’s captured.

Venues & Permissions

The client (or funeral director) is responsible for confirming permission to film at the venue and ensuring attendees are aware that the service is being recorded or streamed. If filming is refused or restricted, Mark cannot be held liable.

Parking

If there’s no free or nearby parking at the venue, any associated charges will need to be covered by the client.

Access on Arrival

Please ensure someone is available to unlock the venue when Mark arrives to set up. He typically arrives early to get everything prepared calmly. If the church or venue is locked, and no one is around, it causes avoidable delays — and contacting mourners on the day is something Mark strongly prefers to avoid out of respect.

Delivery & Storage

After the service, Mark will deliver a downloadable video file that the family can keep and share as they wish. Copyright remains with the family. The video will also be backed up for one month as a goodwill gesture. After that, it may be deleted, so clients are advised to download and store it safely.

Substitution (in emergencies)

In rare cases where Mark is unwell or unavailable, he will do his best to arrange a trusted replacement. If this isn’t possible, the client will receive a full refund.

Extra Time on the Day

If the service runs longer than expected and additional coverage is needed, Mark may be able to extend the booking at an hourly rate — just speak to him on the day.

Payment

Full payment details will be shared in advance via invoice. A link to the broadcast page will be set up and shared as soon as possible after full payment has been received.
